The Final Stretch!

So it’s finally here, the last nine weeks of my high school life… I would like to pause for a moment to recognize my classmates that have not made it to this point…….

Now on with the show!!!! I plan on closing out these nine weeks with a BANG!!! The ACC tournament is coming up which I fully expect the Duke Blue Devils to win, this is followed by the NCAA tournament, which I also expect Duke to win.

Another point of interest, our girls soccer team has begun their season, I’ve been going out and practicing with them a little and this season should be uhmm… Interesting to say the least.

Most of my actual SCHOOl yeah will be spent attempting to pull my grades back up to A’s so that I dont have to take final exams.

But yeah that about summarizes the final portion of my High-School career.

Danen Kane

Danen Kane is an independent christian artist that I found out about a few months back, His songs are incredible, both spiritually moving and musically stirring,and I would most likely rank them up there with Derek Webb.

I decided to start putting up songs that I have stuck in my head for the week, and this happens to be the first one.

This is a powerful song that, in essence lays out our relationship with Christ. As I have said before and will continue to say, Derek Webb is one of the Best, most influential, songwriters(secular, and christian) in the world today, and possibly in history. !)avid

The Evolution ofNatalie Jane Rutrough

Well, what can be said of Ms. Natalie? I have known her for many years, seven to be precise, and while those 7 years have been rather painful to me, they have harbored some fun times.

Sixth Grade, A year of excitement and wonder beyond my wildest dreams…. okay not really but this was the first year that Natalie attended CHA, a calm quiet girl, that sat in the back of the room and read her books.

Seventh Grade, The first year of separated classes. Natalie was still in all my classes, however her silence made her kind of like a ninja. Didnt really notice her until she started rocking the A’s in class, still didnt really talk to her that much, she was perty much the same calm quiet girl she had been the year before.

 Eighth Grade, We learned about the Sistene Chapel… not really so much learned as laughed at, as our teacher covered up the “paintings”. I think this was the year that Natalie started to come out of her Calm/quiet shell, so here we see the evolution begin. She began talking to people, making more friends, starting conversations with me and such.

Ninth Grade, This year goes down as one of the LEAST favorite of my highschool experience. Physical Science with Mr. Will Peters, I was subjegated to a lot of punishment that year, and it was also the year that I began actually talking to Natalie more and seeing the true girl behind the mask of innocence and silence.

The last of these years have built up in their intensity, most of the time being consumed with cramming for tests, getting answers to stuff from each other, and more sarcasm than most people could endure for a lifetime, While some days knowing Natalie can be a little painful(Hunters Party, me picking on Johnny in the gym) all in all it has been more fun than brutal, I cant say that I would trade my experiences with Natalie for anyone elses, cause thats just how I roll.

#2 DUKE Vs. #3 UNC

So one of the biggest games of our season came up, and guess what. WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duke took the win 89-78 over the tarheels AT CHAPEL HILL!!!! so yeah take that all you UNC fans we beat you guys on your home court. Now we get to play them one more time, our last game of the season at Cameron Indoor Stadium, where we hold an undefeated record for the season.

Two biggest Lies in history

“now there are two great lies I have heard, That the day you eat that fruit, you will not surely die, and that Jesus Christ was a white middle class republican, and if you want to get to heaven you have to be just like him”- Derek Webb, A king and a Kingdom

Those lines from the song “A king and a kingdom” are some of the most thought provoking lines that I have heard in a song in quite a while, Derek Webb is in my opinion not just one of the greatest christian song writers in a long while, but also one of the best Songwriters in general.

 His song led me to actually think about how Jesus had been portrayed to me all my life. I had always heard that the republican party was all that a christian should vote for, and every picture that I saw of Jesus portrayed a tall, strong, clean, white, male. Never a shorter, dirty, stocky, olive skinned man as is far more likely to have actually been, I was told that I was supposed to be like Jesus but when all I saw were those pictures and those portrayals, The only way that I knew to act like Jesus was to act like the rest of the middle class society.
