Angel Child

A baby cries
An angel with hazel eyes
but in the midst the mother dies
A lover wonders why
He becomes
As angry as a loaded gun
And clutches to his only son
and weeps like april rain

Chorus:
He was not looking down
He was not looking down
He was not looking down
He was right here
He was not looking down
He was not looking down
He was not looking down
He was right here… with you

As time it strips
The taste of his lovers kiss
And mends a heart of brokenness
Reality remains
Within the smile
of this angel child
if only for a little while
he sees his lovers face

Chorus

Bridge:
Cause that angel will become
the love that breaks the sorrow
and leaves it with no name
and he will rise
cause that angel will become
the love that breaks the sorrow
and brings you to everlasting life

I know that I’ve posted this song before but I felt that it was an appropriate song for the event coming up. For those of you who do not know, A friend of mine was killed two years ago after returning from our soccer tournament. His birthday is the 18th of march and it will most likely be a hard time for a large number of people. As his birthday has come closer I have found myself paying more and more attention to the chorus of this song, it has helped me to come to grips with some things and has really helped me with my emotions as Adam’s birthday has gotten closer. So to all of you who know about Adam and are having a hard time with this just remmember. “He was not looking down, he was right here, with you.” I want to ask everyone to pray for the Spencer family as his birthday comes up, thank you. !)avid

Two biggest Lies in history

“now there are two great lies I have heard, That the day you eat that fruit, you will not surely die, and that Jesus Christ was a white middle class republican, and if you want to get to heaven you have to be just like him”- Derek Webb, A king and a Kingdom

Those lines from the song “A king and a kingdom” are some of the most thought provoking lines that I have heard in a song in quite a while, Derek Webb is in my opinion not just one of the greatest christian song writers in a long while, but also one of the best Songwriters in general.

His song led me to actually think about how Jesus had been portrayed to me all my life. I had always heard that the republican party was all that a christian should vote for, and every picture that I saw of Jesus portrayed a tall, strong, clean, white, male. Never a shorter, dirty, stocky, olive skinned man as is far more likely to have actually been, I was told that I was supposed to be like Jesus but when all I saw were those pictures and those portrayals, The only way that I knew to act like Jesus was to act like the rest of the middle class society.

Just thougth I’d get some thought process going there.!)avid
