#2 DUKE Vs. #3 UNC

So one of the biggest games of our season came up, and guess what. WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duke took the win 89-78 over the tarheels AT CHAPEL HILL!!!! so yeah take that all you UNC fans we beat you guys on your home court. Now we get to play them one more time, our last game of the season at Cameron Indoor Stadium, where we hold an undefeated record for the season.

(#7) Duke Blue Devils V.S. Michigan

Add up the tallies this brings us to 56. Thats right 56 Non confrence home wins. Duke turned this game against michigan into another rout with a 95-67 Victory, at home. For the fourth time in 9 games the Devils leading scorer has come from the bench, and 3 of those 4 times it has been Taylor King, coming off the bench to set a game high 18 points, with Nolan Smith coming a close second with 17 points. Former Michigan Coach and Duke Player Tommy Amaker, was replaced by new coach John Beilien this season, which likely came as a welcome reprieve, since Coach K. never enjoys playing against former players, he said “I don’t want to beat my son, I don’t want my son to beat me.”. After a 22 point lad in the second half Beilien was greated from the Duke fans with a chant of “Tommys Better!”. Duke will play their next game aginst Albany at Cameron Indoor. David

(#7) Duke Blue Devils V.S. Davidson Bobcats

Duke was kept on their toes this game with the Bobcats continually rallying back from double digit deficits. The final score of 79-73 Is the closest that the Devils have come to losing a game this season. Dukes Gerald Henderson, led the Athletically superior Blue Devils team to a victory however, after they had worn down the Bobcats. Greg Paulus capped off the victory with two key baskets and a beautiful steal, in the last two minutes. Dukes next game is against Michigan at Cameron indoor. David

(#7) Duke Blue Devils V.S. (#20) Wisconsin

This Game led to yet another Victory at Cameroon Indoor, bringing the tally to a still national best 55 non confrence home games. While the Wisconsin lineup had 3 players in rotation that were 6″10″ or taller, they did little to help as the Devils defence dominated them from the opening tip to the end of the game. With this victory (82-5 Duke managed to make their first legitimate test at home a blowout. Duke’s next game is against the Davidson Bobcats at the Bobcat arena in Charlotte, Nc.   David

(#7) Duke Blue Devils V.S. Eastern Kent. Colonels

The Devils continue to show me why they are one of the best teams in the nation. After an INCREDIBLE first half limining Eastern Kent. to 12 points, which slipped up slightly in the scond half to allow 31 the Devils FRESHMAN! Taylor King pulled out an incredible 27 points, on the way to lead Duke to a 78-43 rout of the Colonels this game at Camroon indoor stadium put Duke at a national best 54 non confrence home wins. In the first half Taylor King had an impressive 13 points, Outscoring the Colonels by himself. Can these Devils continue to play such impressive ball or will they fall apart late in the season? I certainly hope they can keep it up.David

(#10) Duke Blue Devils V.S. Illinois Fighing Illini 79-66

Another victory for the now 4 and 0 Duke Blue Devils, in a semi final game against the Fighting Illini. The Devils played a strong offensive game but had a lot of trouble on the offensive boards only bringing down 5 to the Illini’s 22 bringing in 31 points for Illinois. One of the biggest blows to the Illini was their shot percentage, which came out to 32.3% from the field, and 25% from behind the arc. Duke on the other hand shot 56.5% from the field and 46.5% from behind the arc. The Devils are 11-0 on the Island of Maui, but will they be able to keep that record against Marquette in the final game? Duke lost to Marquette in a tournament game last season and with most of that team returning this looks to be Duke’s toughest game so far this season. The win against Illinois gave Coach K. his 779th win putting him in a tie for the 8th most wins by a college coach, with former Illinois coach Lou Henson. David

(#10)Duke Blue Devils V.S. New Mexico State Aggies

The season is off, and the Blue Devils are coming out ready to play. After their first game against the North Carolina Central Eagles(121-56). The Blue Devils have kept up the offensive as they showed yesterday with an impressive 86-61 victory over the Aggies. Duke 6th man Jon Scheyer had an impressive game with 22 points and with a 66.6 percent shot from behind the arc. DeMarcus Nelson the only Senior for the Blue Devils had a total of 14 points,Gerald Henderson a Sophomore had 11 points, and Kyle Singer a Freshman had 10. The Blue Devils shot 47%, forced 27 turnovers and at one point led by 31 points. Last year the Blue Devils had the lowest Points Per Game in the A.C.C. (70.9), however this year the Devils have set a far more frantic pace and are averaging 103.5 Points over 2 games. The win over N.M.S. has led the Devils to their 53 straight Non-Conference home victory(the longest in the nation). The devils must now turn their attention to the Maui Invitational tournament next week, so can this team that hasnt lost a non-conference game since February of 2000 pull out a tournament win?I certainly think so.David
