VACA Regional tourney…..

4th place.. not bad if there had been more than 4 teamswe lost to two teams that we beat in the past, New Covenant, and Homeschoolers. We lost to the homeschoolers off of a last second goal that our keeper probably should have saved, but its in the past now so no use complaining. We lost to New Covenant in a shoot out, the keep managed to stop my shot and then the next two went wide of the goal. So overall I feel pretty crappy about our performance overall, but we still have Nationals in November so we can prove ourselves there.  Oh, and two guys from our team made the all tournament team, Myself and Richard Jamison, our other capitan.David 

Friday, October 19th

Friday will mark the beginning of our regional tournament, we managed to place second in our confrence so we have a first round bye, on friday we will either have to play the SWVA homeschoolers or temple xian academy, We have beat the homeschoolers but we only tied Temple, We shouldn’t really have any trouble with temple on our field though. So all in all I think we stand a really good chance of winning the tournament. If we beat our opponent then we will have to play the winner of the #1 and #4 teams…. wonder who that will be. We have to finish either first or second to go on to the state tournaments. I’ll update you guys on how it goes after friday.David

CHA vs. Faith(hurt)

We pulled out another win, this one was only 2-0 but yeah we played decent the second half. I scored another goal that makes 3 consecutive games wonder how long I can keep that up, Cooper Woolson scored the other goal, and I once again got a rediculous yellow card, they were set up for a free kick and as he started going forward I yelled for my line to step up, The Ref. deemed that to be unsportsmanlike conduct and gave me a yellow. I realized later that game that I hate playing teams that have bad players, because they dont play the ball when they get down a goal they just go for body. Well we have a game Friday against Dayspring, it should be the hardest game of the season, we can win if we play like we know how though. David

CHA vs. Oak Hill

We pulled out another win 3-1 I scored another goal that makes 2 consecutive games, Cooper woolson scored on a shot from about 30 yards out it was really well struck, And our center defender and other Capitain made a goal off of a direct kick it hit the keepers hands and knocked him back it was awesome!!!!. We played alright but we could have done alot better we should have had about 7 goals but we couldnt get our act together on the offensive end. I had another shot that i put a lil too much curve  on it and it bounced off the left post, sadly there was no one following the shot so the defender got to it off the bounce. We get to play Faith of Hurt on Thursday should be an easy game but they dont really know what they are doing so they’re gonna play rough.David

CHA Vs New Covenant

Well this game went alot better than our last game against them. We pulled out a 3-2 win I scored one after I burned the Defensive line, Brady Jamison scored off of a beautiful cross from one of our wing players Cooper Woolson, and Matt Moore scored off of a shot from the baseline. Around the middle of the second half we actually started to play like a real team, we kept our possesions and passed really well, We had alot of shots on goal but we didnt have anyone crashing the goal so one of mine didn’t get an assist. Our coach has been making us play all of our balls out to the wings but we score more when we play it thru the center because I can outrun most of the defenders in a straight sprint. We have a game Tuesday against Oak Hill we’ll see how that one goes

CHA vs. Temple Xian

Well, what can be said about this game allow me to draw a picture of this feild in your mind. The ground was about as hard as concrete, it was about as flat as the surface of the moon. We still managed to tie them 2-2 but im not going to lie we played terribly, but we have another game today against our arch-rivals and its home so you should get a post tommorow.David

9-20-07 CHA vs. SWVA Homeschoolers

Yeah, this game didn’t go quite like i wanted it to. We ended up losing 0-1, and i got a yellow card, it was really quite funny, I got tripped and fell on someone who then kicked me and the ref. gave me the yellow, it made me chuckle. The goal that they scored was a fluke our keepers gloves were coming apart and when the ball hit them they didn’t grip it at all, ohh well we get to play them at least one more time when we have our regional tournament. All in all it was a pretty good game our passing was decent but it was a little off and our shots were a little on the bad side, but i wasn’t too displeased. hope you enjoyed this post.David
